We lingered longer atop the granite staircase in the warm glow of the Autumn evening. A cool breeze sweeps across the shadowed ridges, becoming colder every nightfall. Soon the flora will rest under a blanket of snow, but not yet. For now, we’ll tilt our cheeks with the angle of the light and keep an eye on the summit’s glow.
