" Salty Sails "
Acrylic on Canvas . 30" x 40" . 2015 (framed)
I had never lived on the ocean prior to moving to Vancouver, British Columbia. I was both intrigued, scared, entranced, and inevitably transfixed by it. Growing up sailing on the Hudson River in New York gave me some confidence on how to navigate a sailboat, but the open, dark waters still seemed terrifying. This painting represents that turmoil of the ocean, subtle shifts in hues, ever moving, and eternally circulating.
