I’ve always found sailing to be one of the most poetic ways of travel - to harness a near invisible force that can help usher you towards a destination if you’re willing to be on its time. The wind may die, waves may rise, and the only way out of irons is to adjust yourself or give it time. I often think of early explorers and how optimism must have been packed alongside patience in order to make the long sea stretches pass.

I sketched up this drawing recently with thoughts of a future navigating a roadless path pointed towards possibility. In drawing the dream I was pulling threads from past experiences to shape the new artwork.
